Sustainable Process Cooling for Beverage Applications

THE SYNCHRONISATION CONCEPT

Process Synchronized Cooling

The new cascade cooling configuration makes unparalleled synchronization possible between the Multistage chiller and the process to be cooled. The energy consumption of a refrigeration system represents one of the major utility costs in modern Food & Beverage production processes. Frigel’s new Multistage chiller now makes perfect synchronization between Process and Cooling possible, allowing for significant energy savings.

Thanks to the use of the latest technologies, such as inverters, intelligent “hot-gas-bypass” (HGB) and a specially developed control SW, the Multistage chiller is able to automatically synchronize its cooling capacity with the actual thermal load of the process. In this way, the energy waste typical of traditional systems is avoided (e.g., when the line operates at partial load or during the CIP phases).

Furthermore, the new Multistage concept allows the individual chillers that make up the system (stages) to work at a higher average evaporation temperature, considerably increasing their efficiency. These innovative features can enable overall energy savings of up to 30% and more.

ASSISTED PRODUCTS MANAGEMENT

Create & Save Recipes

The new Multistage chiller software allows operators to easily create and save “recipes” containing operating parameters (temperatures, flow rate, ect.) for each Beverage product, through an intuitive touchscreen interface.

Changing a filling line’s product type or format has never been easier. Traditional refrigeration systems work the same way regardless of the product/format to be cooled. For the first time, Frigel can supply a chiller that works with customized “recipes” for each different product setting.

Instead of manually changing a long series of working parameters (water and glycol temperature, flow rate, etc.), the intuitive SW of the Multistage chiller allows the operator to do it at the simple touch of a button on its touchscreen interface.

The new management SW of the Multistage chiller, in fact, allows operators to simply and conveniently create, save and manage “recipes” (set of working parameters) for every single product and format processed by the filling line.

LOW INSTALLATION COSTS

Plug & Play, Modular and Flexible

The modular plug & play design of the new Multistage chillers makes installation, maintenance and capacity expansion extremely simple and low cost. The modules that compose it are delivered pre-assembled on individual skids, easy to move and arrange.

The modules, pre-tested in the factory, are complete with fully wired electrical panels and mechanical hydraulic couplings that make the electrical and hydraulic connections simple and quick to make. Multistage chillers are easily adaptable to any installation layout and safe, so they can be installed both inside the system, eg. close to the production line and outside.
